Start with a wave and wait. Watching from a caregiver's side is a valid way to take part.
Offer optional small-group greetings or photos. Let children skip a turn without explanation.

A Roubaix party plan can keep the visit easy to follow: greet the birthday child first, pause for their response, then offer a wave or conversation as equal choices. Let the child stay beside a caregiver if that feels best. Invite guests in small groups for photos or a turn to say hello, while leaving space for those who prefer to watch. For an outdoor gathering, decide who monitors conditions and where the group will go indoors. These are parent suggestions, not verified local venue policies. Ask us or our team about the requested theme; program details, costs, and availability require confirmation.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.

National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
