Do not assume lodging includes event space or permission. Ask the actual park about gathering arrangements separately.
Offer a wave, high-five, or photo from a comfortable distance. Let the child choose, with no pressure to approach.
Ask us about the character, possible program details, costs, and availability. A request does not reserve or pay for a visit.
For a Royalton celebration, place the character greeting at a point in the schedule when children are not rushing between activities. The birthday child can choose a wave, high-five, or photo with a trusted adult nearby. Guests may join a shared greeting or wait for a turn without pressure. If the gathering is part of an overnight trip, keep lodging arrangements separate from event planning. Ask us about the character plan; program details, costs, and availability need confirmation with our team.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Kentucky State Parks' FAQ describes reservations for lodge rooms, cottages and campsites. If the plan includes an overnight stay, check the current booking and cancellation conditions for that accommodation. Contact the actual park about separate gathering space and hired entertainment; an overnight reservation does not establish birthday eligibility or event permission.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
