Offer two easy choices, such as waving from their seat or meeting the character with a parent nearby. Follow the child's cues.
Pick one background and ask an adult to bring guests over in small groups. Leave space for the child to take a break.
Confirm the venue's layout, access and permission for the planned entertainment. Share timing and guest needs, then verify the character program, cost and availability.
A thoughtful Union Crossroads character visit can give the birthday child a clear moment in the spotlight without asking every guest to perform. Start with a friendly hello, invite the child to choose a photo, then offer a small group activity with watching as an equally welcome choice. Before selecting a space, verify it suits your gathering. These are statewide planning checks, not verified city venues or policies. Ask us about the character theme and confirm program details, cost and availability with our team.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
South Carolina State Parks provides an interactive map and filters for its park directory. Use the actual facility listings to check the space, seating, access and amenities required for your gathering. Ask the specific operator about reservations and hired entertainment; a map result is not a venue recommendation or approval for a party.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
