Start with the theme your child loves most, then think about how the character will greet guests and what kind of play area you have. A character who suits a picnic pavilion may feel different from one for a recreation center room.
Yes. Outlets are not available at most picnic pavilions, so ask the venue about power if you plan to use music, lights or other equipment during the visit.
Recreation centers can be rented when they are closed to the public, and they are listed by the city as options for birthday parties. Confirm the rental hours for the specific center and whether it fits your guest count.
Activities are options to discuss with the entertainer, such as photos, games, dancing or a story. Confirm with the entertainer what they can offer before the day.

Dallas has a range of city-run spaces that families use for birthday parties, so the venue choice often shapes what a character visit can look like. Start by picking the character your child is excited about, then find a space that suits the activities and setup you have in mind.
The Dallas Park and Recreation department offers 45 pavilions available for rent throughout the city for picnics or family gatherings. Electrical outlets are not generally available at these pavilions, with the exception of the Flag Pole Hill pavilion and the Bachman Lake Park pavilion. If your character visit needs power for a sound system or lights, ask about outlets before you book a pavilion elsewhere in the city.
