Ask whether the space you want can host an outside costumed entertainer and what paperwork that requires. Ask if a special event permit applies, what the rental agreement covers, and whether the room layout allows a character to move around comfortably. If you are considering an outdoor athletic field, ask whether the field rental rules apply and what the city expects for restroom access, since renters who need portable toilets must arrange an outside vendor, with one unit per 100 participants and at least one ADA-compliant unit.
