Let them wave, watch beside an adult or join later. Do not make a greeting or photo a requirement.
Set a simple order for small groups and keep the birthday child near a trusted adult.
Ask the theme provider about the planned program, cost and availability, and check venue permission separately.
A Walla Walla birthday can feel more personal when the character visit has one clear highlight instead of a packed schedule. Start with a greeting for the birthday child, then invite guests to join a short group activity or take photos in turns. Keep a quiet place nearby for children who prefer a pause. Before the day, decide where bags, gifts and the group will gather so the character has a clear arrival point. Ask us about your preferred theme; confirm program details, costs and availability with our team.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Washington State Parks identifies reservation types that require its call center. Check the actual facility type and booking channel before trying to secure a picnic shelter or group space online. Verify access, setup and permission for hired entertainment separately with the operator; a reservation route is not event approval.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
