Start with a wave or hello from a little distance. Let the child decide whether to approach, pose for a photo or simply watch.
Offer one brief group activity and optional photos. A helper can support younger guests while the birthday child takes a break or joins at their own pace.
Ask the facility about gathering space, access and permission for entertainment. Ask us to confirm the requested character, program details, cost and availability; lodging is not event approval.
If your Westview plans include an overnight stay, keep accommodation arrangements separate from the birthday gathering plan. An overnight booking does not establish permission for a party or hired entertainment. Once you have checked the actual space, prepare a gentle visit with a wave, a family photo option and one short activity. Give the child room to observe before joining, and share the schedule with guests ahead of time.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Kentucky State Parks' FAQ describes reservations for lodge rooms, cottages and campsites. If the plan includes an overnight stay, check the current booking and cancellation conditions for that accommodation. Contact the actual park about separate gathering space and hired entertainment; an overnight reservation does not establish birthday eligibility or event permission.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
