Yes. Start with a wave or a chance to watch from a comfortable distance, then follow the child's cues.
Offer a simple group greeting or activity, with watching as a welcome option. This keeps the moment low pressure.
No. Confirm permission and access with the facility, then ask our team to confirm the visit program, cost and availability.
A Wildcat Lake party can give the birthday child time to watch the character arrive before deciding whether to say hello. Ask us about a visit with a gentle greeting, a small group activity and a few photo opportunities. Keep guest participation optional, especially for younger or reserved children. Before the day, assign an organizer to greet the character, direct guests and confirm the planned space and access with its operator.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Washington State Parks identifies reservation types that require its call center. Check the actual facility type and booking channel before trying to secure a picnic shelter or group space online. Verify access, setup and permission for hired entertainment separately with the operator; a reservation route is not event approval.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
