Let the character greet from a comfortable distance and offer the child a choice to watch or approach later. There is no need to rush a response.
Invite children to join one at a time in a simple activity or a group photo. Make stepping away an acceptable choice.
A date request is not a reservation or payment. Ask us to confirm the requested theme, program details, costs and availability.
For a Zetus gathering, give the birthday child a low-key way to meet the character before the whole group joins in. A wave or short greeting can lead into a turn-taking activity, while anyone who prefers to watch can stay with a familiar adult. Keep photos brief and optional, then move back to the party. Before setting the schedule, ask us to confirm the requested character, program details, costs and availability.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
Official source (opens in a new tab)Choose an adult to monitor the forecast and decide when to move the group indoors. National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
