Let the character greet the group first and offer the child a wave or a photo later. There is no need to push participation.
Set aside a clear spot and invite small groups in turn, keeping the birthday child's preferred place and distance in mind.
Share the visit timing, group size, and child's interests or sensitivities. Ask our team to confirm the program, cost, and availability.
In Alice, North Dakota, a character visit can work best as a small, predictable highlight. Begin with a gentle hello, then offer the birthday child a choice to wave, take a photo, or join a simple group moment. Keep the schedule flexible so watching counts as participation too. If considering a state-managed facility, verify the exact space and its terms with the operator. Share the plan with the organizer; program details, costs, and availability require confirmation with our team.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
North Dakota Parks and Recreation lists two rentable picnic shelters at Grahams Island State Park alongside a separate activity center. Use this as one state-managed facility example, not a venue recommendation: confirm which space, facilities and access conditions apply to your plan. Ask the operator about hired entertainment before arranging the visit.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
