A character visit in Ansley, Nebraska, can feel comfortable when children have choices and the organizer keeps the schedule light. Start with a greeting from a little distance, then invite the birthday child to choose between a photo, a wave or joining a simple group activity. Have one adult keep an eye on weather plans if the party is outside. Ask us about the requested costume theme and program ideas; confirm timing, costs and availability before planning around them.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
Official source (opens in a new tab)Choose an adult to monitor the forecast and decide when to move the group indoors. National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
