Let the character greet the whole group first. The birthday child can watch, wave, or approach with a parent.
Choose a clear spot and ask a familiar adult to help invite small groups. Keep individual poses optional.

An Arlington, Arizona party can feel relaxed when the character arrives at a spot children can see without needing to gather close. Invite the birthday child to choose a wave, a brief conversation, or a photo beside a parent. Guests can take part in a shared greeting before optional individual pictures. If you are considering an indoor room or an outdoor setting, check its actual conditions and permission first; the state facility reference is an example, not a local recommendation. Ask us about the theme, then confirm program details, costs, and availability with our team.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Picacho Peak State Park lists a reservable conference room in its visitor center. Check the actual room, permitted hours and booking conditions before planning a gathering layout. Ask the operator about eligibility for your activity and hired entertainment; this is one state-managed facility example, not a birthday venue recommendation or a rule for city parks.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
