That is fine. Keep a parent nearby and let the child decide whether to wave, approach, or join a photo later.

For an Attica, Michigan, party, give the birthday child a choice about how the special moment begins. They might watch the character arrive, offer a wave, or join a photo when comfortable. A short greeting followed by optional guest participation keeps the plan easy to adjust. For an outdoor gathering, decide who will monitor conditions and where everyone can go indoors. These are statewide planning checks and parent suggestions, not verified Attica venues or policies. Ask us about a character theme; confirm program details, costs, and availability with our team.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
