Offer a wave, a quiet hello or watching from beside a familiar adult. Avoid making a child the center of attention before they are ready.
Choose one shared activity and set aside a clear spot for photos. Ask another adult to help guide children between moments.
No. A date request does not reserve or pay for a visit. Confirm the character theme, program details, cost and availability with our team.
For a Babbitt celebration, keep the visit easy to follow: a warm greeting, a short photo opportunity and one activity children can join at their own pace. Some may want to wave or watch before stepping closer, so leave room for that choice. If the gathering is outdoors, decide who will monitor the weather and where everyone can move indoors. City facilities and policies have not been verified. Ask us about a character theme; program details, cost and availability need confirmation with our team.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.

National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
