Offer the birthday child a choice between a wave, a photo or watching first. Do not require a hug or participation.
Agree in advance on who makes the move indoors and where everyone will go. Tell guests how they will hear the decision.
No. Confirm the venue's rules and backup options directly. Ask us about the requested character visit and confirm program, cost and availability with our team.
For Babson Park, let the birthday child set the pace of the character greeting. A quiet wave or photo with a trusted adult can be the whole special moment; other children can join a simple activity when ready. If plans are outdoors, decide who will watch the weather and where the group will go indoors. These are statewide planning checks, not verified local venue policies. Ask us about a visit; confirm program details, cost and availability with our team.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.

National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
