Keep the group back at first and let the child choose a wave, a hello, or time to observe.
No. Offer a brief group photo and let individual children opt in or skip it.
Ask us to confirm program details, cost, and availability.
For a Bluewell gathering, make the child's first moment with the character personal but unhurried. A familiar adult can introduce them, then offer a wave or a short greeting before inviting the wider group into a shared story or song. Guests may join, watch, or take a break. Keep the photo spot easy to find, and prepare an indoor alternative if plans are outside. These are statewide planning checks and parent suggestions, not verified Bluewell venue policies. Ask us about program details, cost, and availability before confirming your schedule.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
West Virginia DNR describes lodging options within its state parks and forests and links to the official park directory. Identify the exact state-managed property, then ask whether there is a reservable gathering space suitable for your proposed activity. Confirm access and hired entertainment rules; a lodging listing does not establish group-event eligibility or approval.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
