Give guests one easy cue, such as a group wave, then make space for the child's moment.

For a Boekerton, Missouri party, keep the character visit focused on one memorable choice: a hello, a short photo moment, or a simple birthday message. Tell the child these are options, not obligations, and let a trusted adult stay close. Ask guests to wait their turn rather than crowding around the character. When considering an indoor or outdoor gathering, check the actual facility and prepare the space before contacting our team about a theme or visit plan.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Missouri State Parks says enclosed shelters, venues and meeting rooms require advance reservations. Check the exact facility type and current booking conditions, since open picnic shelters can follow a different process. Confirm the gathering layout and permission for a hired character visit with the operator; this policy does not establish entertainer availability.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
