Offer a wave or short hello, with a trusted adult close by. The child can watch first and join later, or not at all.
Choose a clear spot and invite willing guests in small groups. Keep the birthday child's photo optional and unhurried.
Confirm venue rules, the indoor option and the group's route. Ask our team to confirm program details, costs and availability.
In Brant Rock, a weather plan can make an outdoor character visit easier to manage. Before guests arrive, choose an adult to monitor conditions and agree on where the group will go if the plan changes. Keep the greeting simple: the birthday child may wave, take a photo with a trusted adult nearby or watch until ready. Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.

National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue.
