For a gathering in Clarkia, Idaho, choose a visit plan that works even if the group needs to change locations. Settle the indoor backup and the route there before party day; then keep the character portion short and flexible. The birthday child might wave first, join a photo later, or watch throughout. Guests can be invited to take part without being called on individually. Before asking us about a theme, prepare your date, guest count, and setting. Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
Official source (opens in a new tab)Choose an adult to monitor the forecast and decide when to move the group indoors. National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
