Tell guests where to gather and when the character moment starts. Keep the approach area clear and designate an adult to help guide children.

A relaxed Fox Creek, Idaho, character visit can begin with a wave from the doorway and build only if children want to join. Ask us about a brief greeting, a shared story or song, and a photo pause, then confirm what the program includes, along with costs and availability. City facilities are unverified, so these are statewide planning checks and parent suggestions, not confirmed local venues or policies. For an outdoor gathering, decide in advance who will watch the forecast and where the group can move indoors.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.

National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
