Ask the child whether they want to wave, say hello or watch first. A parent can stay close while the character gives the child time to warm up.
Offer one simple group activity and make watching an equally welcome option. Let children take turns, with the birthday child choosing whether to begin.
Send a date request, location, preferred visit length and the child's interests. Ask us to confirm program details, cost and availability before making plans.
For a gathering in Gallina, begin with the setting and how your child likes to join a group. A character can greet the birthday child with a wave, then offer an easy choice: join a brief activity or enjoy the moment from a parent's side. Keep the photo area simple and leave room for children who prefer to watch. Before you settle on a park or shelter, check its current details and ask about your proposed activity. Confirm the character program, cost and availability with us separately.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
New Mexico State Parks directs visitors to specific park pages for group shelter reservations. Review the chosen facility's current conditions, operating information and alerts rather than applying one set of amenities to every park. Ask the operator about your gathering and hired entertainment before committing to the location.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
