That is fine. Keep a comfortable place nearby and let the child decide whether to join later.
Share the schedule and the child's preferred greeting with our team, and ask one adult to guide guest turns.
Confirm the requested theme, program details, cost and availability before setting the party schedule.
A Grayling party can keep the character visit comfortable by giving the birthday child a choice of how to join. They might wave from beside a parent, listen to a short greeting or take part in a photo when ready. Ask us about a simple visit plan and tell guests what to expect. For an outdoor gathering, line up an accessible indoor alternative and choose an adult to monitor the weather and guide the group if plans change.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
Official source (opens in a new tab)Choose an adult to monitor the forecast and decide when to move the group indoors. National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
