Start with a wave and let the child decide whether to come closer. A parent can join the first photo or simply stay beside the child.
Offer one activity at a time and invite guests to join in small groups. Watching quietly should remain an acceptable choice.
Provide the date, party location, ages and character theme. Ask our team to confirm the program, costs and availability; venue permission is a separate check.
For a Kirkwood, Missouri gathering, keep the character visit easy to follow: welcome the guest, give children time to observe, then invite them to participate if they wish. A familiar adult can stay nearby for shy guests, while another adult handles the schedule. Ask us about the requested theme and visit program; confirm details, costs and availability with our team. Statewide park guidance is a planning reference, not proof of a Kirkwood venue or its rules. If you are considering a state-managed space, check its exact reservation conditions before settling on a party layout.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Missouri State Parks says enclosed shelters, venues and meeting rooms require advance reservations. Check the exact facility type and current booking conditions, since open picnic shelters can follow a different process. Confirm the gathering layout and permission for a hired character visit with the operator; this policy does not establish entertainer availability.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
