Explain that they can wave, say hello or watch from beside a trusted adult. Avoid making a hug or photo a requirement.
Pick one clear photo area and have the camera ready. Invite a few guests at a time, then let children step away when they are done.
Ask our team about the requested theme, timing, program details, cost and availability. A request alone does not confirm a visit.
For a New Millport party, make the character appearance easy to understand: tell children when the guest will arrive, then leave room for a quiet hello before any group activity. Photos can follow in small turns, with watching as an equally welcome option. Ask us about your chosen character theme and possible visit format. If you are weighing a state park pavilion, verify the booking and activity rules for that specific facility before shaping the day around it.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Pennsylvania DCNR publishes payment conditions for confirmed state park picnic pavilion reservations. Check the current confirmation and cancellation process before treating a requested date as secured. Confirm the exact pavilion, access and permission for hired entertainment with its operator; the pavilion payment and the entertainer's quote are separate arrangements.

National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup.
