Offer a wave, a photo or the option to watch. Let children take part when ready, and avoid making a greeting or hug a requirement.
Share the birthday child's name, the preferred greeting style and the planned photo spot. Ask them to keep the gathering route clear.
No. It is one state facility example. Verify site conditions and permission with the operator, and ask us to confirm visit details, cost and availability.
A Norrie party can make room for a warm character greeting without asking every child to step forward. Let the birthday child choose a wave or photo, then allow guests to join at their own pace. Before the visit, the organizer can check where people will gather and whether the route is clear. Keep any activity simple enough to pause if children need a break. These are parent suggestions, not guaranteed program elements. Ask us to confirm the requested theme, program details, cost and availability. Statewide guidance can support research, but city venues and policies are not verified.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Wisconsin DNR describes the reservable picnic shelter at its MacKenzie Center and its booking route through the State Parks reservation system. Treat this as one state-managed facility example: check the actual shelter, nearby facilities and conditions with the operator. Confirm permission for a hired character visit; the listing does not establish rules for every Wisconsin park.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
