Tell the child what to expect and offer a choice: wave, say hello or watch from a parent's side. Let the child set the pace.
Offer a simple shared song or movement game. Make watching an acceptable choice, and avoid asking each guest to perform alone.
Confirm the gathering site's access and entertainment permission. Ask us to confirm character program details, costs and availability.
A Nu Mine celebration can feel special without a packed schedule. Give the birthday child a first hello, then pause for a photo while guests gather around at their own pace. A short story or easy follow-the-leader game can bring the group together, with space for shy children to observe. Before settling on an outdoor gathering, confirm the actual site's access and permission for entertainment. Ask us about character program ideas, costs and availability, and keep the entertainer's arrangements separate from any venue reservation.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Pennsylvania DCNR publishes payment conditions for confirmed state park picnic pavilion reservations. Check the current confirmation and cancellation process before treating a requested date as secured. Confirm the exact pavilion, access and permission for hired entertainment with its operator; the pavilion payment and the entertainer's quote are separate arrangements.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
