Start with watching from a comfortable distance. A wave, greeting, or photo can wait until the child chooses.
Invite guests to offer a brief wave or greeting one at a time, with room for anyone to pass.
Confirm the character program, cost, and availability with us. Separately verify the venue booking and permission for hired entertainment.
For an Old Lycoming celebration, plan the character's arrival around the child's comfort, not a required group performance. A quiet greeting with a trusted adult nearby can lead into a photo if the child wants one. Invite guests to wave or take turns sharing a short greeting, then keep the visit's activity easy to pause. Statewide guidance can help with planning, but local facilities and policies are unverified. Ask us to confirm program details, cost, and availability, and check venue arrangements directly.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Pennsylvania DCNR publishes payment conditions for confirmed state park picnic pavilion reservations. Check the current confirmation and cancellation process before treating a requested date as secured. Confirm the exact pavilion, access and permission for hired entertainment with its operator; the pavilion payment and the entertainer's quote are separate arrangements.

National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
