Begin with a wave or group hello. Let each child decide whether to move closer or stay beside a caregiver.
Invite children to the photo area without calling on anyone. A caregiver can help a child join when they are ready.
Review the accommodation booking conditions, then separately ask about daytime gathering and entertainment permission. Confirm visit details with our team.
In Pope Valley, an overnight reservation and a daytime birthday gathering are separate planning questions. If your family is staying overnight, check the accommodation conditions; then ask the relevant operator whether a daytime gathering and hired character visit are permitted. For the children, plan a calm welcome, optional photos, and a place to pause with a caregiver. Keep the visit timing realistic around the family's schedule. Our team can confirm program details, costs, and availability after you decide what kind of visit to request.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
California State Parks' reservation policies on this page cover overnight accommodations, including camping and lodging. If your plan includes an overnight stay, check the accommodation-specific booking and cancellation conditions. A camping reservation does not establish permission for a daytime birthday gathering or hired entertainer; confirm those separately with the relevant operator.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
