Yes. Invite guests to wave, join a photo, or watch quietly. Make participation optional.
Choose one adult to greet the character and another to help the birthday child and guests gather for photos.
No. Ask our team to confirm the requested character, planned activities, cost, and availability.
A Port Murray celebration can give the birthday child a small spotlight without putting every guest on the spot. Start with a friendly hello and offer the child a choice: wave from beside a trusted adult or step forward for a photo. Guests may join a short group pose, while others watch comfortably. To keep the visit manageable, ask one adult to welcome the performer and another to gather children when it is photo time. Share your plan with us, then confirm program details, cost, and availability with our team.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
As a city-scoped example within New Jersey, Edison municipal parks provide the published park amenities directory. Edison publishes a park amenities directory with pavilion, picnic grove and playground fields. Use the directory to check facilities for your group, then ask the responsible venue about reservations and paid entertainment; an amenity listing does not reserve it. This example applies only to Edison's listed municipal facilities; other cities and state-managed parks have separate operators and rules. Confirm the exact venue's reservation process and permission for hired entertainment.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
