Start with a group hello and give the birthday child time to decide whether to approach, wave, or watch.
Pick a clear spot and have one adult invite guests in small turns. Check photo plans with your entertainer.
Confirm the site's rules and backup plan. Ask us about the character visit's timing, activities, cost, and availability.
For a Port Penn gathering, keep the character's first moment simple: a friendly hello, a pause for the birthday child, and an optional photo together. Children can join at their own pace, with an adult nearby to guide turns and help anyone who prefers to watch. Ask us about the character theme and possible visit activities; program details, cost, and availability need confirmation. If you have a property in mind, identify who manages that exact location before making plans. Statewide agency information can guide your questions, but it does not verify a Port Penn venue or its policies.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Delaware DNREC identifies the Division of Parks and Recreation as the operator of state park properties and provides further park information. Use the exact property's operator to check group-space reservations, capacity and access, and describe any hired entertainer before booking. The division overview is not a venue recommendation or event approval and does not establish city park rules.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
