Let the child watch from beside a trusted adult before deciding whether to approach, wave or join a simple activity.
Choose one uncluttered spot and ask guests to leave a little room around the birthday child. Keep phones ready so the moment stays brief.
No. Ask us to confirm the requested date, program details and cost. Confirm venue permission and any reservation separately.
In Rice, Texas, plan the visit around one clear highlight: a gentle character greeting, then a short activity that lets the birthday child choose whether to join in or watch first. Leave space for a few family photos and keep the schedule flexible for young guests. Statewide planning checks can help with venue conversations, but they do not verify Rice facilities or local policies. Ask us about the character theme you have in mind; program details, cost and availability need confirmation.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Texas Parks and Wildlife directs visitors to reserve group facilities by phone rather than assuming every booking can be completed online. Check the current process for the exact group facility and describe the gathering and hired entertainment to the park. A phone reservation route does not establish that the proposed party activity is eligible or available.

National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
