In Richmond Heights, Missouri, a character visit can fit neatly between cake and play: welcome the character, give the birthday child a choice of greeting, then invite guests to join a short group activity. Keep a quieter option available, such as watching from a parent's side or taking a photo later. Missouri State Parks says enclosed shelters, venues and meeting rooms require advance reservations. Check the exact facility type and current booking conditions, since open picnic shelters can follow a different process. Confirm the gathering layout and permission for a hired character visit with the operator; this policy does not establish entertainer availability.

National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup.
