Offer the birthday child a wave or a chance to watch from beside a trusted adult. Let them choose whether to approach or have a photo.
Keep the gathering area clear and invite guests to join one short group activity if it is included in the confirmed program. Let children opt out.
Missouri State Parks notes different processes may apply. Check the exact facility with its operator, and separately confirm entertainment permission and provider details.
For a Sainte Genevieve, Missouri gathering, think about the visit flow before choosing where everyone will stand. Give the birthday child a quiet option to watch or wave, set a nearby photo spot and leave room for guests to join a group activity without crowding. If your plan includes an outdoor portion, settle the indoor backup before the party day. Confirm the character program, price and availability with the team. These are statewide planning checks, not verified city venues, local requirements or entertainment approval.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Missouri State Parks says enclosed shelters, venues and meeting rooms require advance reservations. Check the exact facility type and current booking conditions, since open picnic shelters can follow a different process. Confirm the gathering layout and permission for a hired character visit with the operator; this policy does not establish entertainer availability.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
