Let them watch from a comfortable distance with their adult. They can join later, wave, or skip the activity without being singled out.

No. A request is not a reservation or payment. Ask us to confirm the date, program details and cost.
For Sand Creek, Michigan, give one adult a clear job: watch the forecast and guide the group if plans need to move. That leaves the organizer free to welcome the character and help children settle in. Ask us about a visit with a brief greeting, an optional group photo and a simple activity. Confirm the program, cost and availability, and treat these as statewide planning checks and parent suggestions, not verified Sand Creek venues or policies.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
Official source (opens in a new tab)Choose an adult to monitor the forecast and decide when to move the group indoors. National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
