Have the character offer a wave first, with the child free to watch or approach. A parent can stay close for a first photo.
Pick one gathering spot and one person to guide guests. Keep the photo plan optional and leave room for a weather change.
No. A request is not a reservation or payment. Ask us about the character visit and confirm program details, cost and availability with our team.
In Siletz, keep the visit easy to follow: one warm greeting, a birthday-child moment and an optional group photo can be enough. Let the child choose between a wave, a short conversation or watching nearby before joining. Guests can take part by greeting the character or stepping into a photo when invited. For any state park plan, check the specific group facility and booking conditions; do not assume a campground reservation covers a party. Ask us about the visit and confirm program details, cost and availability with our team.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Oregon State Parks accepts reservations at parks with reservable group day-use facilities as well as many campgrounds. Check the specific facility and booking conditions rather than treating all parks or campsite reservations as group-event bookings. Ask the operator about hired entertainment and any additional permission before setting the party plan.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
