In Alamogordo, New Mexico, give the child of honor a little control over the first interaction. They may wave from their seat, say hello with a trusted adult nearby or wait until later for a photo. Let guests know they can join a short group greeting or quietly watch. A prepared organizer can keep the greeting area uncluttered and explain the plan in advance. Ask us to confirm the requested character's program, costs and availability; a date and ZIP code are not a confirmed booking.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
New Mexico State Parks directs visitors to specific park pages for group shelter reservations. Review the chosen facility's current conditions, operating information and alerts rather than applying one set of amenities to every park. Ask the operator about your gathering and hired entertainment before committing to the location.

National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
