Offer a group photo after the greeting and let children decline or watch nearby without drawing attention to them.
Choose the greeting and photo areas, assign an adult to help children gather and identify a quiet spot for anyone who needs a pause.
A date request is not a reservation or confirmation. Ask us about the requested program, costs and availability, and verify venue permission separately.
For an Alger, Washington celebration, make the photo moment an invitation rather than the whole event. A character can greet children, give them time to observe and offer a group photo for those who want one. The organizer can keep the schedule light by choosing a single activity and preparing a quiet place nearby. Check the booking route for the specific space, then confirm its conditions and entertainment permission directly.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Washington State Parks identifies reservation types that require its call center. Check the actual facility type and booking channel before trying to secure a picnic shelter or group space online. Verify access, setup and permission for hired entertainment separately with the operator; a reservation route is not event approval.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
