Let the child choose between approaching, waving, or watching beside a parent. Keep the greeting brief and follow the child's lead.
Offer one optional shared moment, such as a group photo. Guests who prefer to watch can remain part of the celebration without posing.
Confirm pavilion status and permission with the venue operator. Ask us about the character program, timing, cost, and availability.
For a party in Andalusia, Pennsylvania, keep the child's special moment distinct from the venue booking. A simple greeting, a chance for a photo, and an optional group activity can give guests structure without making anyone perform. Before printing invitations, verify the exact facility and whether the requested date is confirmed. State guidance explains that a request and a confirmed pavilion reservation are different steps. Ask us separately about the character program, cost, and availability; neither request alone confirms the other arrangement.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Pennsylvania DCNR publishes payment conditions for confirmed state park picnic pavilion reservations. Check the current confirmation and cancellation process before treating a requested date as secured. Confirm the exact pavilion, access and permission for hired entertainment with its operator; the pavilion payment and the entertainer's quote are separate arrangements.

National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
