Offer a wave, a brief greeting or watching from beside a trusted adult. Let the child choose without requiring a hug or photo.
Choose one spot and invite guests forward in small turns. Keep a clear path so children can approach or step away comfortably.
Check the property's operator and rules, then share your date, setting and access needs with our team. Confirm program details, cost and availability.
A good Arden party plan leaves space for the birthday child to warm up before the character visit becomes a group activity. The character can offer a greeting from a comfortable distance, while the child chooses whether to wave, talk or simply watch. Prepare a small photo area and let guests take turns. Before asking us about a visit, identify who manages your chosen property and share the setting, date and access needs for confirmation.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Delaware DNREC identifies the Division of Parks and Recreation as the operator of state park properties and provides further park information. Use the exact property's operator to check group-space reservations, capacity and access, and describe any hired entertainer before booking. The division overview is not a venue recommendation or event approval and does not establish city park rules.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
