Let them stay with a trusted adult and watch first. Offer a wave or family photo only if they choose.
Check the accommodation's current booking and cancellation terms, then ask separately about gathering space and entertainment permission.
No. Ask us to confirm the requested program, cost and availability, and confirm venue approval with the property.
At a Bald Hill celebration, an overnight stay and a birthday gathering are separate planning questions. Keep the character visit short and easy to follow: welcome, optional group participation, then photos for children who want them. These are statewide planning checks and parent suggestions, not confirmed local venues or policies. If staying overnight, check the accommodation terms and ask the actual property about gathering permission. Ask us to confirm program details, cost and availability.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Kentucky State Parks' FAQ describes reservations for lodge rooms, cottages and campsites. If the plan includes an overnight stay, check the current booking and cancellation conditions for that accommodation. Contact the actual park about separate gathering space and hired entertainment; an overnight reservation does not establish birthday eligibility or event permission.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
