Watching with a caregiver, waving from a distance or skipping the greeting are all reasonable choices.
Pick a photo spot ahead of time and have an adult gather willing participants, leaving space for children who prefer not to pose.
Confirm the pavilion with its operator and ask about hired entertainment. Check theme, program details, timing, cost and availability with our team.
At a Beach Lake party, a calm welcome can give children time to get used to a character before the group gathers for photos or a simple shared activity. Participation can be optional: invite children to wave, watch or join when ready. Ask us about the requested character theme and possible program; details, cost and availability must be confirmed. These are statewide planning checks and parent suggestions, not verified Beach Lake venues or policies. Keep the venue booking and entertainment arrangements distinct.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Pennsylvania DCNR publishes payment conditions for confirmed state park picnic pavilion reservations. Check the current confirmation and cancellation process before treating a requested date as secured. Confirm the exact pavilion, access and permission for hired entertainment with its operator; the pavilion payment and the entertainer's quote are separate arrangements.

National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
