Start with the character greeting the whole group from a little distance. Let the child watch, wave, or approach only if they choose.
Offer a shared story or gentle movement game, then invite optional photos in small turns. A grown-up can help the birthday child take a break.

In Beechmont, make the birthday child's first interaction easy to decline or accept: the character can offer a friendly wave, pause for a parent-supported hello, and let the child choose a photo. A manageable visit might continue with a brief story or a simple movement game, with watching as a perfectly good option. Ask us about the requested costume theme and confirm program details, costs, and date with our team. The available facts offer statewide guidance, not verified Beechmont venues or local policies, so check any gathering space directly.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Kentucky State Parks' FAQ describes reservations for lodge rooms, cottages and campsites. If the plan includes an overnight stay, check the current booking and cancellation conditions for that accommodation. Contact the actual park about separate gathering space and hired entertainment; an overnight reservation does not establish birthday eligibility or event permission.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
