In Benton, Wisconsin, keep the visit comfortable by planning a small, clear moment for the guest of honor rather than expecting every child to join at once. A wave, a chance to watch, and optional group photos give guests choices. If you are considering a state-managed shelter, verify the specific facility, amenities, and permission for a hired character visit with its operator. The cited shelter example is not a Benton facility or a rule for every park. Ask our team to confirm program details, costs, and availability, and prepare an indoor alternative for outdoor plans.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Wisconsin DNR describes the reservable picnic shelter at its MacKenzie Center and its booking route through the State Parks reservation system. Treat this as one state-managed facility example: check the actual shelter, nearby facilities and conditions with the operator. Confirm permission for a hired character visit; the listing does not establish rules for every Wisconsin park.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
