Yes. Watching, listening, or waving from beside a caregiver can be a comfortable way to take part.
Offer one simple activity and invite children in small groups, with a quiet alternative for anyone who prefers it.
Provide the date, location, group size, timing preferences, and any access needs. Confirm the specific program, cost, and availability with our team.
At a Bettles Field celebration, a little breathing room can help the character visit work for children with different comfort levels. Let the guest arrive without a loud announcement, then invite the birthday child to choose a wave, a photo, or a small role in a group activity. Keep one caregiver nearby and leave an easy path to a quieter spot. When you contact us, describe the setting and the kind of visit your child would enjoy; our team can confirm program details, costs, and availability.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Alaska's Refuge Cove State Recreation Site publishes an online reservation route for its picnic shelter. Check the specific shelter, date and access conditions rather than assuming every state park works the same way. Ask the operator about permission for a hired character visit; the reservation route alone does not establish that permission.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
