Ask our team about a simple greeting and photo pause. Confirm the visit plan in advance, and let the child decide whether to approach or watch.
Offer a choice to wave, join a short group moment, or stay seated. Let children pass without calling attention to them.
Provide the ZIP code, date, location and requested character to our team. Confirm program details, cost and availability before making plans.
In Big Chimney, make the visit fit the child's pace instead of filling every minute with activities. A calm entrance, a chance to observe and a brief greeting can give the guest of honor room to warm up. You might follow with a few photos or an optional wave-along for guests. Ask us about a manageable program; the chosen theme, activities, cost and availability must be confirmed with our team. A date or ZIP request alone does not reserve a visit.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
West Virginia DNR describes lodging options within its state parks and forests and links to the official park directory. Identify the exact state-managed property, then ask whether there is a reservable gathering space suitable for your proposed activity. Confirm access and hired entertainment rules; a lodging listing does not establish group-event eligibility or approval.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
