In Birch Bay, decide where the birthday child will meet the character before guests gather. A simple hello, a wave from a comfortable distance and a photo option can create a gentle start; guests can join a short shared activity if they wish. Keep the plan flexible, especially if the group includes young children who may need a break. Organizers should confirm the space, access, setup and entertainment permission. Statewide planning guidance does not verify Birch Bay facilities or local policies. Ask us about the requested theme and confirm program, cost and availability with our team.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Washington State Parks identifies reservation types that require its call center. Check the actual facility type and booking channel before trying to secure a picnic shelter or group space online. Verify access, setup and permission for hired entertainment separately with the operator; a reservation route is not event approval.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
