Let children greet from their seats or stay beside a trusted adult. Participation can be watching rather than approaching.
A quick photo after the first hello may work well. Keep a nearby activity available for children who prefer to skip the picture.
Confirm the requested character theme, visit plan, timing, cost and availability with our team. A request alone does not secure a date.
For a Blackland birthday, make the character's arrival predictable: tell children when to expect a greeting, then let them choose whether to wave, watch or join a photo. A quieter corner gives a hesitant child room to warm up while the group enjoys a brief shared activity. Before the visit, have an adult ready to welcome the character and guide children between moments. Share your schedule and age range with our team, and confirm the specific program, cost and availability directly.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
Official source (opens in a new tab)Choose an adult to monitor the forecast and decide when to move the group indoors. National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
