They need confirmation. A request for a date or ZIP does not reserve or pay for a visit.
A useful Boardman party plan begins with the space itself: confirm the layout, access and what the operator allows before arranging a character visit. Keep the child's special moment simple, perhaps a greeting from the edge of the group followed by a photo with willing guests. Prepare a quieter place where a child can step away, and keep the activity brief enough to fit the setting. Statewide information is a planning reference, not proof of a Boardman venue or local policy. Ask us about the requested theme; program details, cost and availability need confirmation.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Wisconsin DNR describes the reservable picnic shelter at its MacKenzie Center and its booking route through the State Parks reservation system. Treat this as one state-managed facility example: check the actual shelter, nearby facilities and conditions with the operator. Confirm permission for a hired character visit; the listing does not establish rules for every Wisconsin park.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
