Have the child wave, watch from a familiar adult's side, or meet the character later. Let guests choose their level of participation.
Use one clearly marked photo spot and invite, rather than line up, children. Keep the birthday child's photo moment flexible.
Confirm proposed program details, costs and availability with our team. A date or ZIP request does not reserve a visit.
For a Brinsmade celebration, a small, predictable program can help children settle in. Start with a hello alongside the birthday child, then let guests choose whether to wave, join a group moment or stay near their grown-up. Set aside a simple photo area with room to step away, and let the organizer signal when the group is ready. Check the exact gathering facility and its conditions before settling on a plan. Ask our team to confirm any proposed character-visit activities, costs and availability.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
North Dakota Parks and Recreation lists two rentable picnic shelters at Grahams Island State Park alongside a separate activity center. Use this as one state-managed facility example, not a venue recommendation: confirm which space, facilities and access conditions apply to your plan. Ask the operator about hired entertainment before arranging the visit.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
