In Buena, make the character visit feel like a small, unhurried highlight rather than the center of every activity. Ask the theme provider to confirm the program, timing and cost, then plan a simple greeting and a clear spot for photos. Children can choose whether to wave, talk or watch from beside a trusted adult. Before inviting guests, decide who will welcome the character, help children take turns and keep the schedule flexible if the group needs a quiet moment.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
As a city-scoped example within New Jersey, Edison municipal parks provide the published park amenities directory. Edison publishes a park amenities directory with pavilion, picnic grove and playground fields. Use the directory to check facilities for your group, then ask the responsible venue about reservations and paid entertainment; an amenity listing does not reserve it. This example applies only to Edison's listed municipal facilities; other cities and state-managed parks have separate operators and rules. Confirm the exact venue's reservation process and permission for hired entertainment.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
